Casting Your Cares

Some say that the Spirit helps us in our weakness. When we don’t know what to pray for, the Spirit intercedes for us through wordless groans. It also says He who searches our hearts knows the mind of the Spirit because the Spirit intercedes for God’s people in accordance with the will of God. (Romans 8:26-27, NIV)

In 1 Peter 5: 7, the Amplified Bible says “casting all your cares (all your anxieties, all your worries, and all your concerns, once and for all) on HIM, for HE cares about you (with the deepest affection, and watches over you very carefully). Can you believe this?

Christians should be the happiest people on the planet earth without a worry in life. We should not practice sins such as worry, fear, and doubt. Can you believe this?

1 Peter continues to say be sober (well balanced and self-disciplined), be alert and cautious at all times. That enemy of yours, the devil, prowls around like a roaring lion (fiercely hungry), seeking someone to devour. Can you believe this?

Lastly, Peter said, “But resist him, be firm in your faith (against his attack- rooted, established, immovable), knowing that your brothers and sisters throughout the world are experiencing the same sufferings. You do not suffer alone. After you have suffered for a little while, the God of all grace (who imparts His blessing and favor), who called you to His own eternal glory in Christ, will Himself complete, confirm, strengthen and establish you. He makes you what you ought to be. Can you believe this?

YES! You can believe this. Say the following, “Thank you, God; we can come to you and release all that troubles us and give everything to you. We will resist the enemy and be firm in our faith. We appreciate that you will complete, confirm, strengthen and establish us, making us what we ought to be.” Amen!
